Good quality cheap build

Got my fatsharks, qx7, and built my first quad and whoop...already planning for a backup 5" build once my wife wants to kill me a little less!

My first build was a Martian 2, dys samguk motors, racerstar 30A escs and an hglrc f4 v5. Cheap, powerful...but I don't necessarily trust the quality and reliability. I want a freestyle build I'm not nervous to huck around. I thought I'd be sitting at 500 at least ( considering I'm nearing 1.5k between my filming hexa and my fpv quad setup That feels like a lot). But I knew I wanted a backup quad so I decided to just start putting a cart together. I came up with this after some thought, and will hopefully start building it mid summer.

So tax return was a bit better than I thought, so I just built it...got a little out of hand and ended up being a bit more spendy than I initially thought it would be, but I think it will rip, and its not a bad price considering. It can definitely be made for cheaper, but I like the features of the blheli 32 (even though they went closed source, I actually am ok with it, its enough of a feature upgrade that they should be making some money from it). I still need to(likely design and) print a mount, and get a pagoda.

Update: So I ended up designing my own gopro case that prints really well and works really well for whatever hyperlite frames have the triangluar 3 hole mounting.

The .stl and .stp files to print and modify it can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2813919.

If you want to support those guys at piroflip and brain3d I agree with that, but I already had tpu filament and a 3d printer and it took me like an hour to design and saved me like 20 bucks so...

Nice build. I'm trending towards affordable builds. It helps ease the pain of a flyaway.

Thanks! Yea I wanted something that was good quality, yet cheap enough that if I crash it its not going to be a pain to replace parts. Im interested to see how the xracers come apart if I end up having to replace one.

Hey sorry that I didnt see this, the samguks are pretty good. I haven't had a chance to fully test durability yet, but my brother broke 1 the first day out. Haven't had any issues since then but I haven't crashed into anything but snow. Overall I like them, tons of power in the 2207 version and worth 10 bucks a piece for my first build. I think your first build is good, the 2306s do draw a bit more current, but with the 5043's I dont think you will draw too much current. Im not a huge fan of the martian II anymore, my front arms are already delaminating from a "crash" into a tiny branch that didnt even dent a prop or slow me down...I'm thinking I will be switching over to the flowride for my budget oriented builds, its 20 bucks more than the martian and real thought and design went into it.
