The Marmotte

I've flown for 2 years with my modified Wizard and decided it was time for me to build my first kwad !
The Armattan's frames always caught my eye, so the Marmotte looked like a good starting point for this build.
I learned a lot by building this one as I tried to use all the functionalities available. Things as Smart Audio, F.port, telemetry, were all new to me.
I mounted the Mamba F722s stack rotated to 180 degrees so the power leads comes out from the front of the frame.
The dry weight is 368 gr / 0.81 lb and comes to 670 gr / 1,48 lb ready to fly with the Gopro Session 5.

What would I improve ? As you can see on the pictures, I cut some props to protect the motor wires and wrap it with electrical tape. I'm pretty sure it will take some beating but it doesn't look really clean.
The other things I will probably need to improve is the R-XSR placement and antenna mount. I couldn't find another place to stick it so it's right on top of the Unify pro 32 HV. I attached the Unify to the frame with 2 small strips of M3 double sided tape on the extremity of the board and a zip tie to make sure it doesn't move. That way, the center of the Unify aligns with the hole on the frame and gets some extra ventilation. (see pics of the bottom of the plate).
I hope it's not gonna cook ! After the first flight, it looks OK, with all the ventilation it keeps reasonably cool at 100mW but I won't try too soon to run the Unify under the maximum power output (1 W). Any advice on RX placement would be appreciated :)

It flies pretty smooth, it's not the lightest build ever, that gives some good momentum :)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
