Hello all! Well here it is, finally my first custom build after flying a Beta85X Whoop for quite a while to get some flight time under my belt. A big thank you to ReadyMadeRC for supporting my onslaught of questions!
My focus was, long-range freestyle flying and plenty of options to feed my inner-nerd, such as getting some experience with Betaflight's GPS features and the various customizations the Radix allows. I view this build as a bit of a "trainer" and test platform for my entry into FPV. I focused more on the quality of components, extra features, and availability of support vs. pure low cost. I do expect my future builds to be more specialized, instead of putting every feature plus the kitchen sink on-board! Here are a few of my overall first impressions and build notes:
For those getting into FPV and have similar tech interests, I do recommend an approach like this to get a flavor of what is out there from a technology standpoint and still end up with a useful platform for beginner+ freestyle flying. It will cost you a little more, but will worth it IMO. I'm definitely interested in anyone's questions, thoughts, or suggestions. Thank you!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
