My first build. The goal was to have a relatively cheap but good quad under 250 grams. This drone was built over the course of 6 months, and caused me a lot of suffering. But in the end, it was worth it. I started in the summer of 2017. At this time I was using an HGLRC FC-PDB. After equipping the quad with my friends FRSKY receiver, I set out to fly it. First flight in acro, and I crashed. The FC-PDB stopped responding to receiver input and betaflight. I then ordered an SPF3 clone and a flysky reciver from banggood. Once the drone was complete, I flew a couple times in angle mode, but one day the quad unexpectedly fell out of the sky. Turns out my bad soldering caused an ESC signal wire to detach. After re soldering the ESC, I powered up the quad and the motor released magic smoke and the coils burnt. I replaced the motor and ESC. Being very careful while soldering, the new setup worked. But I faced a new challenge- mounting the cheap all in one camera. I used a 3D printer to make a part that allows the camera to mount on the 30.5*30.5mm stack. However, the weak antenna is exposed and can easily break and burn the vtx. As of two weeks ago from (posted on February 9) I decided not to cause any more trouble for myself and just fly. It has been a long journey to complete this drone but i'm happy it was. I learned so much and I think I am now ready for my next build. To continue this build I am ordering a Foxeer monster V2 and Dys MI200 to solve my camera problem. Thank you for reading!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
