Wanted to build a top mount 3in quad to see if it would make a difference in handling over bottom mount. Don't have enough flights to really tell, but it fly's well. I can say the frame is rubbish,if It makes it through a hard cash i'll be surprised. Still on the fence about the Rotorx 1404's, They do seem to be really efficient just don't have enough flights yet.

I have the same motor/prop combo on a Tomoquads Predator X and I quite like how it flies. Definitely not a lot of power, but very quiet and suuuuper low amp draw. I actually get decent flight times (2:30 to 3:00) on a 450mAh 4S pack, which keeps the AUW nice and low. I'd still really like to see a 4000-4100Kv version of those motors, though.

I have the Rcx 1304's on 2 predx's running Dys 3045's and get much the same feeling and sound. That is why i'm probably still on the fence about Rotorx motors. I'm not a racer but get torn over floaty versus super sharp handling. The predx is a great frame and have 40-50 flights and crashes on each. In the next week I plan on putting on some Gemfan 2540's just to see how the handling changes. I do think a higher Kv would be nice but now i'm thinking that they were looking for a cruiser motor, almost like a low kv 6in?

Really curious about those motors. Also what props are those - I think your link is for the 5mm mounting version.

There's an X-mount version of the same prop: https://www.getfpv.com/rotorx-rx3044txsb-black-3xcw-3xccw.html

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
