First 5" build. Durable yet cheap frame, lower-end parts, AIO FC to save on space/weight and allow for upgraded HD cam/DVR.
NOT the final camera mount in first couple photos, just wanted to get it positioned for a quick test flight. Trouble with HGLRC FC, wouldn't power up with battery, but USB seems fine. Contacted HGLRC and am working with them on a solution.
7-1-18 Check out my youtube channel for some videos. Most recent with Tattu 1550mah battery:
4-20-18 Have had this up and running for almost a month now with the new board ordered from Amazon. The new board seems of higher quality, and definitely WORKS. The original may have been a lower quality board, or even maybe a knockoff--starting to rethink the Banggood route.
So far it has been crashed at least a coupld dozen times, been in a tree for a week with several days of rain, and dunked in a puddle with not much more than broken props. (last photo) Oh, and two ruined batteries, one from a crash on concrete, other from being in a tree for a week.
Without any tuning, this thing files great, and has taken an absolute beating without much damage other than the top plate where the antenna connects--I will probably end up running the antenna out the back.
Finally got a decent camera mount: http://a.co/hCP3KS7
Took a little bit of ingenuity to get it to mount properly, but it's farily solid and gets a decent tilt. (3rd photo)
3-17-18 Ordered another HGLRC F4 V5PRO just because all my wires are cut to fit. Still in contact with HGLRC to find resolution to problem, but not real hopeful there. Maybe I'll get a replacement from them, maybe not. Going to be EXTRA careful with heat on the board this time around, and probably do some tests before I even start soldering.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

i have the same frame, and oh boy can i relate to the mounting issue with the runcam micro swift 2. I resolved to hot glueing it to the top plate, but I like yours too!
Check out new mouting system, links provided. Not ideal, but better than hot glue and zip ties.
NICE. Thank you for this
