Been doing this for a while but 5"+. After building and flying my neighbor’s 3″ I had to have one. Calling it "Polaris" after the skin, and it's the funnest kwad I've flown yet! BTW, highly recommend the Lumenier battery, I get double the flight time than the Tattu (~5m vs just over 2m).

Does the 12A esc can handle 4s with 1407 motor ?

It ran great, so great I ran it into a pole :( The frame is awesome, despite the entire drone being in 4-5 pieces on the ground, the frame didn't break, just came apart. I have since rebuilt it though with a Speedix stack that is 20a x 4 and it still flys great!

I have that same skin on my 3"! I'm really liking all the frame skins these days. You could definitely get away with using a 650mah 4S from Tattu or even the 500mah 4S high voltage from Lumenier. The 850 is pretty heavy for a 3". Oh, and I definitely recommend the 3" Lumenier props.

Nice build!

Thanks for the info! I was thinking these 850's were rather large for the kwad, just got them because the neighbor was using them on his 3's, but I notice that they are large enough even the smallest offset/shift of the battery and if you let go of the sticks in angle mode, the copter want's to lean. I'll try a 650 next!
And yes, the skins are great. I'm doing a Chameleon clone next and hoping to find this shiny sort of gold skin shown here:

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
