I started with the aokfly 2306 2650kv motors on a recommendation by KababFPV (however there are some bad clones out there), decided I wanted to use them for a 5inch racer. I initially bought the Armattan Rooster, I really liked the carbon, so I decided to go for the Mongoose. I saw a review of the Racerstar StarF3s board by drone mesh on youtube, as well as the UAV futures crew. The board was ok to install, I am running betaflight 3.3 on it, I'm not a huge fan of how far out the board sticks out for the power cable. The expectation is to have it at the back but this causes the usb port to be behind the camera. The vtx was mounted on the bottom of the top plate, I used a zip tie and heat shrink to create a more secure antenna. When I was setting up the XM plus, I was used to using the UART 1 on my F4 boards, turns out it's UART 3 on this F3 board. I decided to go with the 5051c dal props, super responsive, great performance, quieter than the dal4045 props. In the future, I might try the Gemfam hulkie 5051 props, and change the microswift cam to a caddx f1. When I installed the XM plus under the fc, the mongoose has these great big holes in the bottom plate, so I used a thingy plate from rotorgeeks to support it and a bit of hot glue to seal any gaps, I think since this is a top mount build keeping dirt out will help. Super quick to build, I recommend when cutting the motor wires to cut them a bit longer , I just cut them long enough for the adjacent motor pads.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
