do you get any problems with the bearings? i bought a set and i think 2 of them sucked. But im not sure if thats quality control or if my VERY FIRST crash was THAT hard. My first crash...to me it was that bad but it bent 1 motor (which later i noticed was because of the bearings). idk do you have any troubles with your motors?

I had a similar issue with the RX1404 v1's. It seemed like every crash I would bend a motor shaft. I've noticed these motors aren't quite as smooth but they've been more reliable for me.

does those motors get hot in 4s on a 3"?

They get a little warm on 4s but not too bad definitely what I prefer to use.

yessss thanks dude! im planning to make a new quad with those motors. you think a 550mah 4s can do 3mins of freestyle?

Lol no problem. I'm using a 650mah 4s and getting 3+ minutes. You could probably get 3 min with a 550mah but it also depends on your AUW.

how did you manage to get the antenna tubes to stay in the holes? Ive tried a few different things, no luck yet. Id rather not glue them in but i will if I have to.

flying toaster   Nov 20, 2018

I used glue lol you only need a tiny bit

What is your flight time like on this ship?

Motors get a little warm on 4s with BF 3.3.3 and a fairly stock tune. If you're interested I'd say pull the trigger I don't think you'll be disappointed.

nice build! was also looking at these motors. any idea why Albert Kim got 12 minutes of flight time on these motors in a heavier frame?

Thanks! I just checked out his video. It looks like he's using a large 850mah battery with a lower C rating, and is also just cruising around to see how long he can fly. The times I estimated were for regular agressive flying.

How is the power from the dys 1404? I'm trying to decide between these, the airblade superman 1404, and the rotorx 1404 on the More Massive Droner. I want efficiency and long flight times, but still want enough power to do acro. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. The dys 1404 has a bit more power on 4s than the rotorx 1404 but is also less efficient. Build quality is great for both motors. I was bending the shafts on my rotorx 1404 v1's but that has been addressed with the v2. If you're not bothered by the price I'd probably lean towards the rotorx 1404 v2 because you'll get longer flight times and still plenty of power on 4s. The superman's probably fall in the middle in terms of thrust and efficiency (4300kv vs 3850kv vs 3600kv).

Thanks for the info! I ended up going with the Airblade Superman 1404. I'll be building it soon - super excited!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
