Meant to be a high power freestyle quad! That, and I wanted to try the rcx 2306 motors...
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

what about motors? how good are they? are 1300mah enough? how long do you fly?
The motors are great! I would check out J. Bardwell's video regarding the 2207 or the 2306, but I really like them. I had a motor what bent a bell, not shaft, on a soft crash that loosened a bunch of magnets and that was annoying, but it only happened to one. I'm using HD 5048 props mostly, but have yet to try some 5051s or 5052s. I think that is where this motor should shine, because there is a ton of torque. Since CNHL under rates their lipos to get that 100c rating, a 1300 is abt a 1500mah. I get 5-6 min flight times. I can't stress the fact 5 hat the frame is crap. I flew it for a while, only crashing a little, but I took a tumble in some grass and an arm "snapped". It didn't really snap, but it de laminated badly in 2 arms. It looks cool, but performs badly...
