This was a build out of necessity. Started practicing running gates and all I had were heavy freestyle quads. Wasn't much fun trying to wrestle them around corners. I stripped an old beater down and have been practicing with that while I built a true racer. This isn't the lightest or fastest but it's more than I can handle right now and way better suited to racing than my others. Things changed along the way but in the end I'm happy with the result. FYI: This canopy didn't work with the micro swift 3 that's in one of the pictures so I had to get a 2 to fit it. Lens was too big and would have stuck out too far. If you're thinking of using a similar canopy, keep that in mind.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

Looks like a great list, personally however I would drop lose 20 or so grams on a lighter frame.
if running 20g motors a 3 or 4mm frame should be more than strong enough, I have been running my own custom frame from armattan productions at 4mm thick on 2207s at 245g dry weight with no breaks yet!
Thanks for the tip. I've actually made a few changes and went with some 2206 motors. Took a while before the frame was in stock and finally caught it one day. Was out of stock again the next day.
