This is a Martian III build based on the Hobbywing FC/40A ESC combo with their XRotor VTX also.

I loved the build process! Aside from taking the PDB out of the frame (causing a lot of issues with the included bolt lengths) the build was mostly soldering the motors to the ESC, making the pigtail for the camera and connecting the reciever (which I put under the body on the battery strap). I did need to find another VTX antenna line because the one included is meant to bolt in on two small holes but the frame wants it to connect through with a nut.

Pre Post Update: The VTX antenna pigtail that came with the XRotor VTX does not bolt into the frame. Because of this, and looping it downward onto my LIPO pigtail, I did manage to knock the MMCX connector off of the VTX. I did not notice this at the time and I burned out the VTX board. This is entirely my fault but I did have to replace that board. I did then get a proper antenna pigtail that bolts into the top of the fram, and looped the excess (as pictured) over the stack, far away from the LIPO power input pigtail. I have been flying since then and not had any issues.

I am having a lot of fun with this quad so far. I am really still a noob, but this build to me is amazing!

Also, I don't know what my VTX antenna is. I bought it in a local shop along with the whole flight stack...

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
