Im calling this one the Redstyle. All the components on here are new to me except the flight controller. I'll explain each item and how i feel about it then ill describe the build process after that.

THE FRAME:
This frame looked so unique and interesting to build to me i just had to try it out. The Flosstyle frame was designed by Bob Rogie at Piroflip RC. The build height is 20mm, it has 5mm thick arms, uses 6 inch arms but is a 5 inch frame. Super easy to assemble and uses the same plate for both top and bottom. As far as durability goes it has survived minor crashes to it'll be interesting to see how it holds up.
THE MOTORS:
The motors i used for this build are the Emax LS 2207 2400kv motor. As stated above ive never used these motors before so im reserving judgement on them till i fly them more. But as of right now they are great and really smooth. Plenty of thrust and decent effiecency.
THE ESC:
The esc i installed is the Aikon AK32 4-in1 esc. Also not much experience with this esc so time will tell how it holds up. But I've heard good things about it so i thought Id go for it. As of right now it hasnt given me any trouble.
THE FC:
Ive used the DYS F4 pro before and i can say it works great, has good solder pads and tunes very nicely. Very durable little board. I will eventually change this fc out for a RevoltOSD but i didnt have the money to do so right now and i had one laying around so i used it. plus i really wanted to fly this thing.
THE RECEIVER:
I used the Spectrum Serial race Receiver with Telemetry. I get great range out of it{about 3400ft].
THE VTX:
What can i say its a Unify HV. Its great. Good range. Nice all around vtx.
THE FPV ANTENNA:
I ended up using a triumph antenna, the one pictued is a knock off AXII. It wasnt good at all. I love trimuphs. Super durable and awesome range.
THE FPV CAM
The thing that most impressed me out of all these components was the Runcam Micro Eagle. It is just such a good cam. You can see everything with it. So clear and vibrant looking. As far as the shimmering effect it didnt bother me at all. Didnt even notice it. Love it.
THE 3D PRINTED PARTS:
I purchased all the 3d printed from Brain 3d. Bought their Flosstyle kit and some forever tubes. and all worked perfect and fit nicely. Really love the gopro mount.

NOW MY BUILD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS QUAD.
Putting the frame together is super simple few screws here and there and your done. Installing the motors you all know how to do. The key to this frame is keep a stack height below 17mm to save room for your battery straps. I ended up at about 15mm. which works fine. Soldering up the motors were easy and simple on the ak32. nice big solder pads on it. I used a cable to go from the esc to the fc and that works fine also. Solder the cam and vtx to you board and your good to go. Its super simple with the DYS F4 pro. and thats about it. All the places i got these parts from are where the links will take you to. I support all these companies with my business and i love their service.

MY THOUGHTS ON HOW IT FLYS.
IT flys really smooth on stock pids. still need to tune it thought, i get a few vibs at max throttle. but fly really smooth. good thurst. decent flight time of about 3 mins with moderate acro flying. All in all i like how it flys and how it looks. Looks really sharp.
FINAL THOUGHTS.
I will be posting my maiden vid soon on my youtube channel. Check out my channel if you would like to here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRvXnVJUZtMZgLTLUj4SAAw?view_as=subscriber Really would appreciate the look. Hope you all have a good day and happy flying. Comment down below if you have questions or any tips on anything would love some feedback.

Nice build. am thinking of a similar build but with 15mm standoffs. do you think that would be possible?

HornetFPV   Jan 19, 2019

i think it would be slightly possible. very very tight

Nice write up! and a great looking build. ( that frame is on my short list to get done this year, I jumped in too early and got a few FlowRider's -- sigh -- ) I will check back to see your updates on your experiences with those motors ( I liked them too... but have not flown them ). Also your experience with the 4-in-one, I have yet to do a build with a 4-in-one. Throw some electrical tap on the positive battery lead... they always make me nervious when they get the ol' prop strikes. I agree with your comment on the gopro mount. Its the best gopro mount I have used. p.s. red is my favorite color, so I might be copying you here.

thanks a lot bro. sorry for the late reply. the flowrider is still a good frame. The motors have held up great. zero problems with them and theyve taken a beating. 4 in 1 is still going strong. zero problems with that either. gopro mount is still super solid too. only broken an arm after a couple months of hard bashing.

Looks great man! What's your max amp draw on those wild looking flow props?

HornetFPV   Jun 15, 2018

not a 100 percent sure probably 110 amps for all the motors combined.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
