My second build, but 1st on rotorbuilds. Since taking the picture, I have added heatshrink to the vtx antenna so that its not touching the frame. Other than that, and a battery strap, this is pretty much the final product. This is my 130gram 4s, 4 inch quad. The battery listed is 700mah 75c 4s and weighs only 77 grams. With lipo strap and that 700mah 4s battery my auw is about 210grams. You could also use the 1050mah airblade and still be under 250 grams. The 1407 4100kv cobra motors provide just over 900grams of thrust each on 4s. Just as important though is that they miraculously do not get hot on 4s, and reach a high rpm, which can be just as important as thrust. They work GREAT with 4045x2 props, but they do not really benefit from triblade props. The idea behind this build is to use high rpm lightweight motors on a super light frame with lightweight props and nuts. It doesnt have the torque to use super aggresive props effectively or carry much weight, but that doesnt mean its not ridiculously fast! It flies VERY well. PS: The frame is also available as a stretched x if you prefer. Let me know what you think. Feel free to offer constructive criticism or suggest other electronics.
UPDATE: Switched out the xt60 for xt30. dry weight is now 124grams with 4045x2 or 126grams with 4043x3 props and he strap weighs 4 grams. AUW with 700mah 4s airblade lipo is 208grams!!!

I also found 700mAh to be best for this weight range. I use this: http://pirofliprc.com/Pyro-Drone-Graphene-700mAh-4S-148V-75C-By-Who-Cares_p_4328.html and found it's equivalent to a good 850 pack regarding sag. You said you used 4" tri-blade props... which ones did you use? I've tried the HQ 4x4.3x3 V1S (at 2.2 grams) and found they work great and fly better then 4" bi-blades.
yeah, it seems like heavy 4 inch props arent great. but the 4043x3 are actually pretty good on these motors. ill probably try those luminiers too though. the thing about these cobra motors is that they are actually closer to 3900kv than their 4100kv rating, so they work surprisingly well on the 4043x3. my locknuts are like half the normal weight too which i think helps a little.
The airblade 4s 700mah are amazing. They have plenty of punch and last nearly as long as my GNB 850mah 4s, probably because its a full 35grams lighter and has similar mah. I never go full throttle longer than a couple of seconds, but I havent had issues with sag. I like the airblade 4s 1000mah too though because I can fly for a bit longer than all my other batteries. My 1000mah 4s airblade weighs about the same as my GNB 850 4s. The GNB 850's I have vary between 110-112grams because they use 12gauge wire and an xt60. The 1000mah 4s airblade weighs 112grams assuming you got the one with the xt30 plug. The version with the xt60 weighs 122grams, I have that one too. I lile that airblade has accurate weights on their website. The batteries I ordered from bonka weighed 10grams more than advertised. anyways! hope that helps!
Awesome job getting it all to fit! Perfect dry and auw weights too, its not an easy build but really pays off in flight!
Yeah its a tight fit for sure lol. it was originaly going to be a direct frame swap with my xjb 145 but i ended up upgrading most of it in the process. It did all fit, I just found better parts on sale locally and couldnt pass up 13$ cobra motors with free 2 day shipping. The camera is a great one too, 1200tvl and a gram lighter than the micro swift. It being lime green and matching the props was just icing on the cake lol.
great built Quadlite! There is no reason this motors get hot in 4S with those 2 blades props and this light weight. I used as well heavy 4040 tri-blades props with heavier builds and I didn't experience any issues... even carrying a Runcam2. But as you said, there is no real advantage to do that.
Nice finition, I just wish you put more closups to see the details of the cool components you used.
Ultralight 4 inch racers are definitely the best! There is too few of them! They are not fragile because they are super light and thanks to those new 14xx they are really over reactive!!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
