The first micro I ever owned was the Eachine Lizard95, and it was always fun to fly it. But there were some downsides to the frame design. Especially after crashes (and I crashed it plenty and hard) leading to bent props, these would start hitting the frame and bricking the motors.
Having seen a couple reviews of the SPC Maker 95GF, I decided to build my next mircro myself with this frame as I really liked the looks of it.
On this build, I initially used the EMAX 1106 6000kV motors, but they were sucking down the batteries at an incredible rate and no matter how much tuning I put this little guy through, always came down pretty hot (also the battery). I could only get a bit over 2 minutes of gentle flying out of this build using the Eachine Lizard 3s 550mAh stock batteries (which are actually not too bad). After swapping the motors with the BBB 1105 6000kV, I got well over 5 minutes of gentle flight time using the same batteries. Therefore, I'm not really a big fan of the Emax 1106 motors, although they definitely have a lot of power. But the BBB motors are absolutely sufficient for this light build (66g without battery) and they do come down cool.
I am definitely also going to test this build on 4s and it should be able to handle it well enough.

Looks great man! small builds are tough! especially as a 1st build! if you get any vibrations with the motors id reccomend soft mounting them. Its dirt cheap and helps a lot. I do it to all my 2 inch setups. it was only like 3$ for 12 soft mounts. Great frame choice btw!!!

Thanks! The motors actually run very smoothly and I had no issues with vibrations so far. But I'm still running the tune for the Emax motors, so P and D are pretty low. Will revert to stock and go from there again I guess. Also, the FC is soft mounted, which should sufficiently reduce the motor noise getting to the gyro.

They must be some good motors! I just have bad luck with micros in general

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
