I started this build with the flight controller and built around it. The DALRC Engine 4in1 ESC works great with the BrainFPV Radix. You just need to re-position some of the wires to use the JST plug between the two. In order to mount the ESC in this orientation you have to remap the motor resources in Betaflight. The ESC is running DShot 1200, motor timing is set to AUTO and frequency is set to 48 Hz.
I really like that the FlosStyle frame is low profile, but still has lots of room to mount stuff and has 3D printed parts available it. This was the only 20x20 VTX I could find that still used Smart Audio. I thought the 20x20 VTX would mount in the back of the FlosStyle frame because there are 20x20 mounting holes, but the mounting holes on the frame are too small for m3 screws, so looks likes its good old zip ties to hold it in. To get the VTX to fit the way I wanted I had to order a pigtail with a 90* MMCX connector.
I've wanted to try these motors since they came out. The price is reasonable and 2207 seems like the way to go for freestyle right now. They have all the features you look for in a motor. Bottomless, light weight, screw instead of c-clip and these are the best looking Emax motors IMO. They still come with red prop nuts though, so I replaced those. Low profile locking nuts seem to work best with the HQ V1S props. To top it all off I’m using Ummagrip for the battery pad.
UPDATE: I'm now using the R9 system from Frsky, so instead of the XSR this build is using the R9 mm.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

thanks for the reply, appreciate it. how you like the Hero 6? I know its heavier for sure, must be nice to swap batteries now. wish something could be done about the screen, it would be nice if it had no screen but you could plug one in if you wanted to view footage.
I'm using hero 5, the 6 is too expensive for me, but it's good, quad still flys great. The screen does have its positives though. I like being able to watch a video real quick if I want to instead of having to connect my phone first.
