Easily my new favorite frame, GEPRC's KX-5. Well balanced, extremely durable, plenty of room for any type of build, an overall excellent frame that I feel has been overlooked. Also its about 50 bucks cheaper than the Remix.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Hey,
nice build!
I am looking to build something very similar, although with the KHX Frame (replaceable arms).
Or is the KX5 a better idea?
What do you think about the motors in combination with this frame?
Would you change anything about your build in retrospect?
Cheers!
honestly the non-replacable arms on the kx5 doesnt bother me at all. the truth is the carbon fiber is very strong and its very thick, i believe 5mm, i could be wrong, ill measure it later but unless you failsafe from a hundred feet and land on a motor, i dont think youre gonna break much. i had a few nice wrecks durning tuning and testing and it ate every hit like nothing. i broke a prop and a vtx and still the frame looks like its in perfect condition. onlyt thing i would change is my internal setup and make another one a long range quad. this frame has been great to me so far and i will absolutely build another one soon. next time its gonna be a long range set up and maybe ill try to run the side plates on the next build... looks a little cleaner but they wont fit with my cap installed the way i have it.
