Build #10 - biggest and most powerful quad I have built. I couldn't pass on the Acrobrat frame. You can see the thoughts and attention to details that went into the design. I hope it's not too big for a backyard drone.
The original plan was to go with Airbot F4 Nano V6 and Ori32 ESC but I couldn't make the motor #4 spin (you can still see it in the pictures). I saw the FC had mapping issues in the past that were supposed to be resolved and I tried everything I could think of to no avail. Anyone has any insights? For now, the brat will fly with CLRacing F4 Mini and Spedix, hoping the ESC will hold up. Update: someone just mentioned that the fc comes in with incorrect BF firmware and an updated instructions sheet which I didn't get contains this information. Hopefully this solves the problem. Now I am just curious if the Spedix can handle the motors so I will give it a go before changing the stack back.
Total weight without the battery is 211 g. Heavy!
It's raining like crazy today. Stay tuned for videos from the Turtle. Don't know about the video quality yet but it's nice to have a single board and the lens are huge!
Finally, untangled the mess which is the Airbot fc and esc combo and the drone is flying well with the Airbot stack.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

You need to put him in a diet man! It is so awesome 👍 you need to get the sharpness on the turtlet to 0 or else it looks too digital and without enough motion blurr
Already turned the sharpness down. I have built this one heavy on purpose. All my previous builds are micros, I wanted to experience the "throwability" of heavier freestyle quads all these cool YouTube guys talking about 🙄
I'm flying with a 4"quad with similar weigh and a bit more power and it is kind of nice to be heavier but I love more speed cornering efficiency and all the advantages of a light quad
What is the kv rating on the motors? Fast spinning motors help adding a zip when turning.
I wasn't able to fly the brat much because everything is flooded but I tried it and it has plenty of power, very easy to control and stable at the same time. Very different from a light quad and I like it a lot. I'd say it is much easier to fly than an 1106-powered massive droner. Never thought a heavier quad is so much fun.
the motors are 4300kv XD a bit too much buthey. idk I'm not completely sold because I prefer racing so light is my thing but still it is kinda easier. Hope u get to fly soon
