Airblade Intrepid v2 3" prototype

The Intrepid got a little refresh this year, adding dual 20x20 mounts and an adjustable top plate that can accept 10, 15 or 20mm standoffs which makes for a very versatile build. The front most stack is perfect for a Caddx Turtle or Runcam Split Mini and a 20X20 VTX while leaving the rear stack wide open for your ESC/FC. What you see here is the prototype version, the latest version has an updated camera cage that can accept a GoPro or similar camera. I'm really pumped about this build, it flies great and the HD is jello free. Build weight is around 165g without battery, so with a 4s 650 you can get solid HD without going over that 250g limit that a lot of places have to deal with.

Hi I have a very similar build to this with a Caddx, Omnibus F4 Nano v6, 1407 motors, lollipop antenna and Crossfire Nano and Unify but when I fly like 400 ft the signal in the Caddx FPV gets to much noise to fly farther. Its also really fuzzy and not clear. Did you experience the same? Any tips for me to fix this issue?
I am at the point of getting rid of the Caddx and putting a Foxeer Arrow CCD camera on it.
Have you tried to mount a Gopro Session to this frame yet? How did you mount it? I am curious to know so I can buy the same mount.
Thank you

If the signal is getting worse as you fly farther out, look at your VTX and antennas. The camera itself wouldn't affect that.

The production version of this frame has a session mount built into the camera cage and all it needs is a strap!

Great build...

did look at your build, thought "that looks neat, let's see if it's worth it for my next project" - then I saw it's actually pretty similar to my current main quad. - right down to using the exact same motors and a built in HD-Cam :D

yours looks obviously better though

Those motors kill batteries, don't they?

They aren't bad, flight times are on par with most other 1407/8 sized motors. The extra kv is just there for that bit of extra pop if I need it. I've gotten 4 minutes on a 4s 850, even on inefficient prop like the rk3076, but can also drain that same battery in 1min it I fly really
hard.

Pretty neat, got any footage?

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
