This is probably a pretty normal and boring acrobrat, but it flies really well. Tried a bunch of different props on this one and finally settled with the RX3044, which are essentially Gemfan Flash with lesser pitch.
UPDATE1: Switched Motors to the new iFlight Tachion T1408S for T-mount stle props. They shred the lipos, but are significantly more powerful
UPDATE2: Had a problem with my airbot nano FC. Gyro seemed to be dying. Since i had a HGLRC flight stack laying around i switched the whole stack.
UPDATE3: The AKK VTX was causing really badly distorted video to the piont that the rig was unflyable. That is my 3rd AKK VTX dying, therefore making my personal score with AKK: 3 Dead - 1 Alive... That sheds a bad light on AKK's quality control.
UPDATE4: Switched to HQ 3x3x3T props.
What do you think of those motors? And what's the printed part on the Caddx board? Nice build!
Hi there. The sd card protector is this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3068927
Regarding the motors: it highly depends on the props. on the gemfan 3052 flash they produce a weird sound and are a bit harder to tune. the I went for the HQ 3x4x3v1s, which flew perfectly, but especially when it got colder outside broke to easy. Then I tried the schubkraft 3x3x3, which are basically identical to the older HQ 3x3x3. Those were very smooth and easy to tune but immensely lacked power. Now I use the RotorX 3044, which are brilliant. they are very light and bend instead of break. they are basically gemfan 3052 with lesser pitch, which seems to have caused the weird sound.
The only issue I have with the motors is, that they are a little heavier than the brat motors or the emax 1306b. when my motors break I will probably go for the brat motors. not because of performance, just for the weight. the acrobrat frame is already pretty heavy.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
