this is the current version of my Raptor airframe which now has a few differnt pod designs and an arm brace to keep the airframe stiffness more stable over time. it inclueds a shorter main plate to suit the pod designs and now the sandwitch plates are all 2.5mm for a bit more stiffness. im constidering putting the airframe on armattan and the pod design on thingy if people are interersted on a sorted 20x20 stretch X racer with a true 1 bolt arm system...
so this build is set up for full time 6s madness but in keeping with my attitude that low KV is for sissys i've gone with a set of 2150kv Tmotor f40pro2s.. this should be right on the limit of what most of the currrent modern props will cope with power and rpm wise and if not... well HQ have a new range of props for 6s that ive been running on my 6s 2350kv acro build that can actually handle more than 30000rpm.. im hoping the Tmotor props can cope as they are really bloody nice to fly but i think im been a little bit wishfull on that one as they are very 'light' props..
either way i expect this one to be really bloody quick but right on the verge of what is raceable by a much better pilot than my self..
the other great thing anout the airframe/avionics/motor combo is i already have a pair of 4s race rigs on the same set up and have a nearly perfect tune which will at most requre a small increase in tpa to move over to the new qwad and 6s
weights
259g no props
280g with HQ 5.1x4.6x3 props
479g with same props and bonka 1000mah 6s pack
much better video with some nice low passes on the new HQ 5.1x3.1 props
hay so let me get this right.. thats an ori... not a ori32.. ori32 is a square, ok now next your running a 6s lipo on a 25amp 4s rated board, and its all good.? cause i got that same setup basiclly, only difference is i dont have the v6, just plain f4.. so your telling me i can plug a 6s into it no issue huh.. have you tried that yet? did it go up, then come down in flames? whats the point in rating a esc if is just a ly? im just curious cause ive seen 6s rated 4in1 esc that didnt last longer then 2 packs, and here you are telling me that a 4s rated 4in1 esc is doing what the rest couldnt.. whoa thats hard to believe, but hay why not ill give it a whirl, can go 1 of 2 ways your right and then hell ya, or it doesnt and well proved your full lof shit.. im excited, cant wait to see which it is.. wont ly tho, im leaning heavily on your full of it.
to be honest the whole 32k thing is just a bigger number with no real benifit to the user.. its only an advantange of .09ms over an 8/8k set up and comes with a massive increase in noise that then needs to be fitlered out creating more PID latency. at 8k8k you are already operating way faster than the motors can responed to inputs. i have been test flying new BF code that has the stage one gyro and dterm LPF filiters tracking the throttle input and moving up with it.. the result is when you are at a higher throttle setting than idle the filters are not sitting down at 100hz ( or what every you have them set to ) giving a fixed amount of delay into the PID loop.. the higher the throttle the higher the filter tracks and reduces its delay into the PID loop.. the upshot is prop wash is very differcult to create and when it does happen the duration is very small.. its awesome stuff..
at this point the increase in speed does not offest the increase in noise
so I've put my airframe up on Armattan productions if any one wants a dialled light weight racing quad. i can provide a dialled 4 or6s tune if you build using the same stack st up that i do. she's a 20x20 native with a true one bolt arm system, axii/pigtail antenna mount and a micro cam. i have 3d printing files for the pod and camera holders if you were to use the flat plate

not to shabby.. I gotta remember tho when people say 6s these days. there's more then 1 style of 6s.. the racer 6s which is like a vtec 4s, and 6s that I know hitting speeds of 130mph-150mph, high kv motors, maybe 6in 6s. that's one of my favs. storm 2207 2300kv, hq 6045 v1s bi blades on a 1300 rline 6s.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Frame & canopy design looks nice! Will the RunCam Micro Eagle fit in the frame and under the canopy? It has the M12 lens instead of the M8 lens the Arrow Micro has, so just wondering if the wider lens will fit? I think the cameras are both basically the same 19x19mm form factor, just the lens is wider, but the Eagle handles the cloudy/sunny lighting here in Oregon better. Thx!
And perhaps I'd try the BrotherHobby Speed Shield 2207.5 2108kV motors on it...
ive actually done a v2 pod that sits a bit higher and have better clearance. i think it would need a more open camera slot but i can make that happen pretty easy.. i'll look into the specs of the eagle and revise the pod design
Just checking if you think you're going to do a pod design that fits the Micro Eagle? No rush, I was just looking at perhaps asking Santa for the frame. :) Also, the picture on Armattan seems to have a molded canopy, at least it looks like clear molded plastic, not printed, true? Is that available? [EDIT] I see that's also in the first three pictures above, too...
latest version is a little differnet i'll get my shit together and mod the pod for the egale.. they are printed in tpu unfortuamlly armattam dont do printing but you should be able to find a quad shop local that can sort it out for you... if you live in the usa i would use great3d.com to print if you dont habe accesst to one... let me see if i can get the camera dims or a modle off thingy
I can print one, I have an Ender 3. I was just checking if maybe there was a molded plastic version, no problem if it's a printed one. The dimensions for the camera are on the RunCam site: https://shop.runcam.com/runcam-micro-eagle/ Again, no big rush on the canopy for me, I wouldn't be building a Raptor until after the holidays. I just wanted to know before I send Santa a build list if I can use the Micro Eagle. Thanks!
The camera body itself is pretty standard size. It's just that it has the full size M12 lens in it, so the opening might need to be a bit wider? The RunCam site doesn't show the lens dimension, it's 15mm wide.
sorted man.. got 1mm clearance either side and uses the currnet best pod design
if you order the airframe contact me and i'll send you the build guild zip file that has the stl files and tunes to suit the airbot stack in both 4 and 6s
