Ok, this is my first build of a carbon fibre freestyle frame, I've built an F550 Flamewheel before but I wanted to try a "modern" quad build.
I have flashed INav to the FC as I want to fly long'ish range eventually, and I don't really want my investment to never return when I inevitably cock up.
After my initial build, and whilst I was waiting for the R9M and R9MM bundle to show up, I found a sale at the iFlight website. Seen as I wasn't very happy with the Banggood XL8 frame, I ordered the V3 version from iFlight directly. The quality of the finish is a whole lot better, chamfered edges etc. (see part built quad vs finished set up in the pictures). Although this meant a change in FPV camera from the Foxeer Arrow Micro to a "full size" camera, the Runcam Eagle 2 due to ease of mounting, and my complete novice knowledge of quad building.
I have just flown it line of sight for the first time, and my first time flying in Acro outside of a simulator. I must say I'm impressed, very quiet on the Gemfan 8045 props. The Racerstar 1275kv were cool to the touch after two ten minute hops, which I was worried about after watching Painless360's Youtube review of them. When I go to my parents house next weekend I'll have a go FPV, as there won't be hundreds of dog walkers milling around I have to keep track of.
Gorgeous build! What sort of flight times are you getting with the 3k lipo? Have you tried with larger batteries?
First legit fast turn, that reciever antenna is TOAST. It's prop strikes that you need to keep it safe from, and the G forces kwads produce these days easily overwhelm the rigidity of zip-ties. I know that mounting solutions for those long range antenna are all awkward, and I hate them too. Just have to pick one that keeps you safe from the props when things inevitably bend mid-flight.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

The part you've listed for the motors is a catch-all part number on this site and covers multiple KV ratings. Which KV rating did you use for your motors? If it's somewhere else in the post or written on the motors then I missed it, sorry about that.
