I really want to use these awesome Racekraft 3076 tri-props, so it was back to the drawing board to build a 3" quad that's really lightweight to improve the response and prop loading. Bonus points: it came in at 218g with a 700mAh 4S pack, way under my last 3" (the Phuket, at 280g). Very similar to the 5" 6S build, using the same frame, cam, and the Mini Magnum 2 again - super easy layout, setup and so on.
I love the ease and simplicity of the Mini Magnum 2, there's so little to fiddle with and it's hard to end up having a problem with anything.
These motors are totally wild, the gap is tight and the cogged feeling is super strong, very excited to maiden this quad tomorrow!
I also have some Racekraft 3054 5-blade as well as 3041 4-blade props, but if the 3076 3-blades are still overloaded at this weight, then I don't know what could possibly use them, ever!
After some testing and a really good reccomendation, I've settled on the RotorX 3044T props, they're better in almost every way for this build. Super fast response, crazy grip, wild acceleration, and pretty much the same amp draw as the high advance Racekrafts.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

I've got some video on IG, nothing that can be embedded in this post unfortunately. 3076 triblades are excellent for racing on a quad this weight - had to stay higher in the throttle though, low amp draw (less than 40 even on a 5-sec punchout), but not really my style, going to try the 3054 5-blades that I already have as well as RotorX 3044 tri-blades, expecting similar amps and performance but shifting the useable throttle down a bit. RotorX props will probably be pretty tame comparitively speaking but the most sensible choice for flight times and general performance etc.
thank you for the reply :D
great build!
Just tried the RotorX props and they were anything but tame, just plain excellent in all directions. Very happy with them.
