This scratch build was done as a demonstration for the students in a UAV class I teach. The goal is that students will be inspired by this, and the many great builds of all shapes and sizes on RotorBuilds to contribute builds of their own.
The only requirements we had was, we wanted it to be unique, and we wanted it to stand out on RotorBuilds. After seeing a prototype flynocerous cerberus, we knew what to do. Red white and blue, as one student called it, the Screaming Eagle. Buzzer was removed from the stack to make room for a VIFLY powered buzzer, and all wires were wrapped in white and blue shrink tubing. Not pictured is the blue lollypop and the blue prop nuts.
Update Replaced the Falkor with a Caddix Turbo Micro SDR2 Plus Freestyle and have much better video quality now. I couldn't get the Falkor to deal with light chages well and the butter was hard to get used to. This new Caddix looks great. Also with this prototype frame, the 3d printed part which joins the cage to the base is a hair to thin I think so the cage can vibrate. Attempted to hold it firm with a zip tie. Will probably just create a TPU joining piece which is a hair thicker.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
