Thanks man! It's super close ;) I use to run an F438 on this frame but that got toredown and cleaned for another project ;) We'll see how this one holds up. Additionally, I playing around with fport this run.

The praise is well deserved.
Personally, I love Zeus. It's actually the only board from HGLRC that I trust after shearing the pins between FC and ESC during a crash on one day F combos. I have run Zeus on 2-4S with 1106 motors, 2-3S with 1402s. Please let me know how it holds up with 1407s. I usually run these motors with 20A ESC. Maybe 15A is enough. I have built on the Kamikaze frame with 1404 motors but I don't like flying that drone because it's boring. It must be a blast with 1407s!

If its any help I had a Zeus on these motors. It was on 4S and one of the ESC's (source of the fire) on board gave out after a few of flights. Not sure if it was the HGLRC quality control or that I was pushing the limits too far. Quite literally went to take off and everything went up in flames.

I usually wait and get my parts on discount. This one(Zeus) had been sitting around for a while so I moved some things around for another upcoming build. Checking the data sheets running 3x3's on 3S these motors peak out at like 17 amps. Since Zeus is 15A but bust to 25 for 15s I figured it to be fine. Crosses fingers no problems yet 15ish packs in.

Also current meter on the F438 before I pulled it was something like 12-16A the way I fly so I pushed the board for this rebuilt.

@stunkmonkeh: Crazy bro, amazed it lasted that long. :) All the data I seen when you run 4s you gotta scale down to something stupid like 7A? Not sure who would want that ;) .

This is my only 3S build and I like to keep it that way. I got a couple other 3" 4S builds that work for those form factors.

@sergetania: It's literally my favorite quad in my fleet .. and I have ... a few :) . Also built one for my buddy's birthday back in June. His wife contacted me for a suprise so we both went in halfzies ...

No, it's not the quality control. You simply fried it. I think they recommend to keep the current under 10A on 4S which is something a 1106 may draw. Very impressive though how far you were able to push it!

Great detailed information, thank you! I think 1306 motors should be pretty safe, the only problem is that it will be running on 3S. I don't really like how quickly 1306 or 1407 motors drain a 3S pack resulting in sagging after a minute or so. But it's so nice to have a single fc/esc board.

Yup, think it had six packs though it on two different outings.

I was totally lazy and just went for it. No calculations just flew what I had to had for the build. Lesson learnt.

I had flown drones for 20-30 packs without any issues then going to a bigger park and blowing ESC. The ESCs are tough and it also depends on how you fly (actual drawn current).
