This is my all time favorite 3" 3S quad. It litereally flies like butter. It's soooo smooth yet got enough mass to flick a good bit. Great runtimes on 3S 850 and light enough to not notice it's 3S. The T1 Brother Hobby 1407 motors are my go to for these types of builds.

I use CA glue (405 Adheasive) to adhear the R-XSR to the 3d Printed stack plate thanks to PeculiarDesigns over on thingiverse.com

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2846992

The frame isn't in the best of shape it's taken some spills and head-on crashes. The Carbon Fiber tends to twist from the torque of the motors.

I got the 4" arms in this kit and I run 3" props. (I think it adds to the buttery feel.)

The XT30, AXII, Antenna, Buzzer, and Cap mounts are all my design. The antennas are 20-30 degrees for flight polarity. I also designed/printed some end caps for the Antenna tubes.

Once again, I use CA to keep the tubes on the mount and the caps on the tubes.

Nice build! 👍
You must be pushing Zeus's 15A ESC to the limit with the Tornadoes.

The blue Hulk! 🤣
That's a nice build as well!
Great detailed information, thank you! I think 1306 motors should be pretty safe, the only problem is that it will be running on 3S. I don't really like how quickly 1306 or 1407 motors drain a 3S pack resulting in sagging after a minute or so. But it's so nice to have a single fc/esc board.

Yup, think it had six packs though it on two different outings.

I was totally lazy and just went for it. No calculations just flew what I had to had for the build. Lesson learnt.

I had flown drones for 20-30 packs without any issues then going to a bigger park and blowing ESC. The ESCs are tough and it also depends on how you fly (actual drawn current).

Any chance you could publish your designs on Thingiverse for others to print? I'm currently in the process of building in my Kamikaze frame and I'd love that antenna mount on the back.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
