I needed a quad for indoor flying at home. I had a little tiny quad with brushed motors which lacked video transmisson with blurry lines and the brushed motors always quickly burned out or failed. So I looked for something more reliable and fun.
I came across the bumper from armattan. The foam seems to give good protection for the quad and house plus I could use all the components I wanted to and so I started building ...

Quick Notes:

• The Idea was to have the electronic stack at the top and as a counter weight the battery at the bottom.
• The camera is upside down installed. The runcam software is able the flip the picture. And because of the cam socket being standing out a bit it pushed the cam inside at the bottom which gives it a nice tild. Plus its perfectly protected.
• The top plate for protection of the controllers has also zipties extension for the rc receiver
• Buzzer at the backside. I made a hole to fit the wires through gap in middle.
• Weight is about 97 gramm (no battery) - a bit to heavy for the size of the quad. Its flying quite good with 3s but flight time is not that long. With 4s it feels like a litte mini rocket but too heavy. Should have considered the weight more in my build.
• Will try to cut the weight more down by cleaning up cables and unnecessary screws. I left the cables longer first in case I had to rearrange components. Maybe get rid of the beeper as well and use only the motors as beepers.
• The picture is compared to my old cam and vtx combo so much better. And I have hardly any distorions.
• I intentionlly bumped into things with the quad to see how it performs and well if the bump is not too hard its no problem. Once I banged it quite hard against a wall and one prop broke. Not sure how that's possible. I found marks on the inside of the propeller motor cage. Maybe the foam got pushed inside and blocked the props. Other than that its really robust so far.
• I'm happy with all the components so far. Good quality no issues. Even the no name vtx does well.
• The 4in1 esc and the vtx had m2 holes which were to small for the long white screws. So I extended them using a drill. I didnt damage any electronics and it all works fine.
• Oh and not to forget the noise: Unbelievable laud - you can hear it from a mile :)
