Being my first build, my goal was to find the lowest cost parts with the fastest shipping that I could find on Amazon. I also chose not to add a FPV camera at this time as I didn't want to spend the money on the goggles and figure I should learn to fly line of sight first. AUW is 98.5g.

Challenges with this build:

  • Soldering the motor wires onto the FC. I have never soldered any thing nearly this small and without the proper tools (i.e. helping hands and magnifying glass) it was quite challenging and took me a couple of hours to get joints that were acceptable.
  • FC has only two mounting holes. Not really a challenge more of a pain as I would prefer to mount with 4 screws.

Modifications in progress:

  • Designing a 3D printed battery mount and separate receiver mount. Currently, these are just taped to the quad when I fly.
  • Add a FPV camera
  • Add buzzer

It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
