0802 Ducked Dynasty

Building a 65mm brushless whoop with 0802 motors.

12/03 - I got all the parts together for this build but the Happy Model 0802 motors do not fit in the Beta 65 Pro frame cleanly. The E-Clips at the bottom of the motor do not fit through the center holes on the frame. I drilled them out to 9/64" and used the triangle holes for the screws. The center holes distort slightly so be careful when trying to spin the motors. One of my 4 motors seems DOA and I have a message to the seller to get a replacement.

12/22/18 - I used my soldering iron to melt the E- clip holes large enough so they no longer distort. I also had to screw them down using the triangle holes rather than the round ones. I made a return of the bad 0802 motor and Crazepony sent me a whole new set. Oddly the new set had 2 black motor wires and 2 red motor wires. It seems they are dirrctional. My original set were all red so I wonder if my original set had some QC issue. The build finally came together and flies strong. Dry weight is 23g and I have to stay on the throttle to keep this thing moving.

For the longest time we've been limited to 3 to 4 minutes of flight and lots and lots of batteries. With more efficient motors and frame designs it's now possible to push the envelope much further. This guide will walk you through the process of building a micro long range quad capable of flying 8-30 minutes and more than 4km. The build is moderately difficult, but with the right tools and steady hands..

Until recently GoPros were delegated to larger quads. A typical GoPro weighs around 125g and we've only recently begun to mount them on 3" cinewhoops. Even that is a stress on the motors. Now we've got the "GoPro Lite". Remove the battery, displays and casing and you're left with a small, lightweight board and sensor. Wrap it in protective TPU casing and you've got a 30g micro GoPro. The Hero6 is..
