Falcon Multirotors

Still very much a work in progress. This will be my light 7" long range build. I'm trying out some different designs on it, like the quick(er) release gopro mount and the crazy Em-Vee 900 wings seen here. I haven't taken it far yet, but feedback from TrueRC has led me to believe these antennas should perform pretty well like this. They're mounted to the ABS canopy with TPU parts and the front mounts can pop free in a crash. The antennas themselves are also very flexible. It will almost definitely end up much more Aero and less pointy, but I like to try stuff just for fun. HobbyKing ABS did not vapor smooth well at all. I will go back to E-Sun for the final canopy. The Gopro mount works well for quick on/off but is a bit too soft at the moment. I'll add to this post as the project progresses. I just wanted to share because I think it looks awesome. :)

Everything but the frame, filament, and racewire came from RDQ. It's nice living 20 minutes from your favorite shop. :)

Really COOL setup... how did you know where to drill holes to not damage the antenna?

If you look closely you can see the traces in the pcb. I'm sure floating a piece of metal through it has an effect, but probably nothing much.

What did you do to smooth the canopy?

Acetone vapor. That's the photo on my stove top. I used HobbyKing ABS on this print though. It doesn't smooth well apparently. E-Sun ABS looks amazing on my past projects. I'll be printing and smoothing it again soon.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
