CONSIDERATIONS WHEN CHOOSING PARTS
The micro frames are always tight builds so considerations when putting the build together have to be made. This frame though has a little more room than many others, and was ferly easy to put together.
Considerations:
1) Space limitations on frame – fc stack, camera location, antenna placement, need for 3D-parts
2) BEC has enough current to supply everything that is connected; Vtx, Rx, Buzzer, Camera, LED´s
TESTING FC AND 4IN1 ESC
Before starting soldering everything together, I check that FC and ESC is working. I have had a lot of faulty 20x20 4in1 ESC´s, nothing is more frustrating than discovering defective ESC when all is done.
I’m doing it as follows:
Removing unnecessary wires from plugs connected to the ESC
Solder wires to FC
Connect FC to computer
Check that FC communicates with BF
Check that ESC is responding in BLHeli
Flash ESC with latest firmware
Flash FC with latest firmware
CONNECT MOTORS TO ESC
Solder motors to the ESC
Check that correct motors are spinning in BF
I had to reconnect the signal for each of the motors.
Reconnect the signal wires, and check it again
CONNECTING ADDITIONAL PARTS
Vtx, Buzzer, Rx, LED, Camera
Starting with soldering wires to all the individual parts.
Putting on heat shrink where it´s required.
Test fitting before cutting wires the right length.
Soldering everything to the FC.
FINAL MOUNT
Order in FC-stack: ESC, FC, Vtx-plate
Vtx is strapped to a 3d-printed plate (my own design - link in part list) put on top of the 20x20 stack, top standoff had to be replaced by a M3 screw due to space issues
Rounding of frame edge with a file where power cables is cable tied to the frame
Securing the Rx with a small piece of cable tie
Rx antennas, cable tie on arms, fastened to cable tie with heat shrink
LED´s is cable tied to the carbon fiber mounting plate coming with the frame
Vtx-antenna is heat shrinked to a larger cable tie placed on the back vertical standoff – The antenna on the pictures is later replaced by a Lollipop 2 with longer cable witch reduced stress on the UFL-connector on the Vtx
Buzzer busser is heat shrinked together with the Vtx-antenna
Motor wires are secured to arms with tape
