Inspired by the Painless360 video, this is my first Gecko that I built during this past winter. I chose to mount the vtx in a different way (from Painless360), leaving all components attached to the base plate. This way I can lift the top plate for maintenance without having to worry about the vtx, leaving enough room for the battery strap. I also added a couple of transparent layer to avoid the strap to mess with the rest.
I also found a neat video antenna mount made of tpu filament. Seems to be made of good quality filament but time will tell. As usual I like to mount the receiver's antennas with 90 degrees (vertical / horizontal) to reduce risk of signal loss. Starting with this build and going forward, I will include a wiring diagram.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

How much does it weigh with a battery. Is sub 250 grams doable. Haven’t been able to get a clear answer to this in regards to a 3” Gecko.
Thanks
Mine is 179g without battery. I use beefy 4S 1000mAh for a total of 350g AUW. With 850mAh you should get to 290g AUW. I think you'll struggle to build it for sub 250g and certainly you have to go 3S instead of 4S.
Thanks. Parts are on order!
