I was excited to hear that Jack Seymour was back at it with a new series of frames called the Zoot! Jack has been a strong contributor to the FPV community, especially in the micro world. I've been looking for a 2" frame to fly off my deck and in my local park. I wanted something super light that I could carve through the big trees of Oregon. I also wanted something quiet that could rip through the neighbors yards without notice!

The Rotorious FPV Zoot 2" fit the bill. (it's also available in a 3" and 3" Heavy Duty Arm version) I'm super stoked with the performance as I've worked through a number of props and cameras to find the perfect mix. The frame comes with some nice 3D parts that make the build clean and the carbon is really solid.

I'm getting 3 minutes of flight time on new Turnigy Bolt HV 2S 500mah batteries. My first 6 flights were with the Foxeer Falkor Micro and I had a really hard time with the 1.8mm fisheye lens. It had great color and contrast however does not have a 2.1 or 2.3 option. It was one of the best CMOS sensor based FPV camera's that I've used so I was bummed that I had to fall back to my go-to Runcam Micro Swift 2 (Spektrum version- Black color). Another thing I noticed about the Foxeer was that it consumed some serious mah. I was getting 1 minute less flight time as it ran pretty hot.

As for props, I've moved from the Gemfan Hulkies to the Gemfan 4 blade 2035's. It's a colab with RotorX and they seem to be more efficient on this little guy.

Thanks for a great frame Jack! Keep them coming.

First off, she is a pretty lil bird, the silver really looks good with the purp. Your CAMERA was legit affecting your flight time?!?! Woah dang.. whenever I read the consumptioin rate on micro cams it's usually in the range of a 25mah draw rate. Is the falcor thirsty, or do you have a flawed example?

Thank you Jodie! It was a fun one to build. im pretty sure it was the camera. Had another flying buddy who had the same issue. I was pretty excited to use the Falkor micro because I had heard the image was really good. And it was. I might buy another to see if i have the same results.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
