My third time building up the Falcon Multirotors BanniHeavy prototype frame with 6" arms thanks to LAZD and CNC Madness. This time as a minimal freestyle/midranger specifically for 4S Li-Ion. This is my build with a full size AIO FC, so I thought I'd try to keep everything else compact as well. The pod design was just something quick and simple to hold this exact stuff. It actually works great for ziptie mounting both antennas. I might work on a more universal version, but the cam mount holds anything including a GPS. The Turtlet was an afterthough (obviously) that I might also design some TPU around for this mini pod...thing.
Test hover felt great and the next morning I was amazed at the handling on default tune of BF 3.5.4. It's sipping juice on triblades and really wants to climb when carrying a 4S1P. I'm going to have to get accustomed to such low throttle while flying freestyle. The 4S2P TitanPower pack might even give this quad more range than any of my other builds. We shall see.
I love your build!
Really makes me build a 18650 setup myself. Do you have pictures of how you soldered the cells? Did you condsider going 5S or
Thanks! I followed Philipp Seidel's awesome blog post. I have a 5s as well, done as long flat pack held together with printed rings. Ugly as hell but functional for testing.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

I can see a few things going on here. One: whoa dang, you went ALL OUT with the hardware!! Two: you love this. Three: your OCD has gone a little overboard here and you NEED TO ADD A CARBON TOP PLATE friend. I really love what you have done here, and I know that if you REALLY biff this bad boi you will lose more than a hundred bucks worth of circut boards. I can tell that you have some moneys, so maybe you dont gave any fracks and i'm outta line here. Lastly: how about some dvr!!!?!
No, you're right. This is very thrown together for testing right now. If all goes well I will either add a top plate or much more robust printed pod. I'm having a few wonky issues with gps and video noise, but should have flight video soon. This one flies very nicely. I think it might be the soft mounts. Never done a full soft mount FC. I really want sound from the HD so I'll be changing to Turtlet V2 or Foxeer Mix soon. Not sure yet. Thanks for the feedback :)
Here's my first full pack flight with DVR
