11xx motors and a better camera
lets see if its worth the extra 11 grams
--update 22 March 2019
Couldn't wait for daylight so I gave it the maiden flight at 12:30am. This thing is a ripper!
These 1103 motors at 8000kv is a much better match for the 65mm prop. The 0802 16000kv were sagging out big time. I'm not sure if it was because of the JST PH2.0 connectors or the 16,000kv... probably a combinations of the two.
Anyhow, this thing is not only powerful, it is very efficient. A 80% charged 300mah 2s turnigy pack flew for over 4 minutes!
It handled the extra weight from the EOS2 like a boss!
I'd have to say though, there is still value in the lighter 0802 buid as it is a third lighter than this one and quite a performer as well. The higher weight of this one made me fly more conservatively
one day time pack
some more raw footage so mute your volume!
update 10th June 2019
updated the FC, changed the motors to lighter 1102s and using external rx - XM+
still at 40g before battery
I am ready to build this version and I am hesitant between mounting the 08xx or 1103 engines. I am waiting for comments on the difference between your two versions. Thanks for posting!
@crisat havent seen blade crime since being here nearly ten years. Maybe its the area though...lots of tourists.
@erikvanschalk well, these 1103s are nearly half the weight of 1105s. My 0802 16000kv 2s build is 11g lighter but is way overpropped so it sags terribly and motors come down hot. I'll try changing out the dual PH2.0 for a JST and see how it goes. Yeah, it's a shame Kabab shelved the lightweight build. Being so stealth and light does add confidence in flying in crowded spaces
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

So i'm eagerly awaiting your results....
after a quick midnight maiden....this thing is awesome. Super efficient too...over 4 minutes on a 80% full 300mah 2s
Thanks for sharing!! Your video has convinced me, I will mount 1103 engines 😉
the mobula HD motors look even more promising. EX1102 10,000kv
they are even lighter!
