This is a custom build, one of a kind, with the purpose of testing if an ultra light 5inch quad could be used for long range missions when coupled with LiIon 18650 Sony VTC6 cells.
The canopy covers the internal components of a GoPro Hero6 (lense & motherboard) and also houses a polar pro ND filter and a GPS. The 2 small teal buttons are the button with which we operate the gorpo.
The total AUW is 543 grams which is extremly light consider the fact that it packs a 4s 3000mAh and a hero6.
This was a team project, I had a great deal of help from:
Octavian Richea (http://www.3d-p.ro/): Canopy and tail design and 3d print
Petru Rusu: Assembly and testing
Oliver Aldulea: Hero6 hacking
Here is some sample footage from a test flight with 5inch mater airscrews (gopro angle must be adjusted to eliminate props from the FOV, filter position must be changed to eliminate unwanted reflections):
Here is a complete flight telemetry speed up 10x:
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

hey have your tried this on just a normal 4s 1500 mah if so how did it perform?
yes, it flies well but I would not go long range with only 1500mah becase I want to be able to stick around the location I fly to not just go and come back.
