OK, here we go again: I have decided for myself, that what I really like is freestyle, so time to get another hopefully better frame.
I really like the "classic" Alien/Martian/ZMX/QAV-style with top and bottom plate and standoffs and lots of space inside, HD-cam on top just like the lipo. What I also wanted was the slimmest arms possible, as I am a huge fan of the vertical arm design. I own a Potzblitz Infinitum and Karearea Talon, and they fly extremely well, only that they are racers with the lipo on the bottom.
Looking for a frame I found the SL on banggood and bought it after checking out some Youtube reviews. They all were very positive.
Some thoughts on the frame and the build: Quality is definitely OK overall, not the best CF judging by the looks. Everything did fit right away, but the arms are not all equally aligned. In the front and rear the gap is app 2mm more on side side, but at least the props do not touch the frame in the front. But I doubt this makes a difference when flying. TPU parts, especially the arm protectors are crap.
The motors seem to have a lot of power, why I will move from 5040 to at least 5043.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Looks great! I am running this frame now too, and it's so fast! I like your build log, maybe I will post mine. Also: I don't think your motor wires are touching your esc pads in a few of your solder joints. I know they work that way, I have run mine like that. Do you think it makes a difference? I went back and repositioned a few of mine that looked that way and it didn't seem to make a difference, but I didn't do any meaningfull testing. I am trying to render the boots that are so crappy, for when mine inevetably desentigrate. I'm always using some kind of landing gear on these things, I see lots of builds without them, so I know I may be crazy for using them. Having said that, i'm still suprised you opted not to use them at all, they are bad, but usable. Is it the extra weight that is keeping you from flying them?
Guess what, I mounted the boots as my screws are very long and I do not want them to get any closer to the motor wires.
She flys well, maidened here today, so all the solder work is OK I guess :-)
