After having build like 20 different quads from different frame designers I looked towards 10" quads and found out that there are no typical 10" racer frames.
I love the base and canopy concept with the slammed main body of the Catalyst Machineworks' Merica (to me an ingenious concept form Neill).
Based on those experiences and likes I developed my own design.

Firebird 10i (PROTOTYPE)
It is a strechted X frame with an arch design to further improve strength (I estimate it to work with the carbon weave just fine). Motor to Motor distance is about 409 mm.
The main body has mounting for one 30.5x30.5 (back or center) and one 20x20 board (front, only if the 30.5 mount is in the back).

The frame feels super stiff.
LOS Maiden was superb with super agil handeling. FPV was even more impressive as it flies great on stock PIDs (BF 3.5.X).
The frame gives you different build possibilities and is sort of spacy. On my first prototyp I mounted a 4-1 ESC in the center of the base, the VTX is on top of it and the RX is in the back. The FC and Camera are in the canopy. The Brother Hobby Avenger is a 2812 1150 KV, running at 6S.

First you see the Version 1 which allows you to mount your Merica Canopies (as I have quiet a few :-)).

Second you see the bare frame of the Version 2 which has a different V shaped canopy mount that leaves the carbon struts in the back uncovered. I believe it will look super cool ... a bit like car racing. Besides it reinforces the plate in the back considerably.

ATM, I am working on the canopy designs. The first will be for the V2 frame. Second is planed to be a canopy for the V1 that intregrates a Session Actioncamera.
