WARNING: This is an ugly build (though rock solid). I included it for some historical value (X-Foot Eco 2207 2600KV motors). I only heard of them late in the (Dutch?) company's short history. At that time they did not have any of their legenday flagship motor, and so I bought these. This quad doesn't get the flight time its sister does (F60 Pro II's on Spedix GS30's) because X-Foot is defunct and these motors are truly exceptional. This was one of the very first high powered - low weight racers I've built and it still gives me chills. I flew it before writing this up and I gotta say these motors were revolutionary for 4S. It is a testament what you can do with 25A a corner. The control and balance of this Diatone 6MM frame is so good that I literally had to have two. They hinge on the back supports so the whole canopy raises like a car's hood, and so the build and maintenance (if needed) are not as tight and cramped as some designs can be (I'm lookin' at you Gep-RC). All in all this is the frame I suggest any 5" noob buy. 6MM arms mean this thing will never break, the stretch affords the greatest speed and handling possible in this size, and it accepts all my favorite Matek stacks (just as big as any 30.5MM stack I think). I often check around to see if these X-Foots are anywhere for sale... alas they never have been again. I wish I had bought another set. They feel like T-Motor's F60 Pro II's if Cobra made them (ultra powerful - ultra smooth - ultra conservative on lipo). Add 75 bux to the cost total as I added this build long after their site was taken down (though you can see the motors on Rotorbuilds at: https://rotorbuilds.com/build/11149). This quad is a perfect storm and could contest anything through the gates.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
