So I smashed my 4" again, no blame to the frame as it took a lot of abuse.
While waiting for Karls new 4" frame to arrive for testing, a friend offered me a frame to get me in the air again (who also happens to be the designer).
I basically took all the guts and swapped the camera for a Caddx Ratel.
This frame has a deadcat layout and the build came in about 10g lighter as the frame is 3mm vs. the 4mm of the 40r.
Copy+Paste Pids for 3" from the betaflight wiki flew pretty well - gonna tune it some more but already pretty happy.
About 5 min. of freestyle on 850mah 4s. 159g dry weight.
I LOVE the caddx ratel cam - such a pleasure to fly.
Mods
- I did use 3d printed tpu cam mounts to allow 25mm standoffs instead of the stock 30mm ones and the carbon side plates.
- I also modded the axii mount for the 40r to be shorter and clear the props.

Skyzone DVR is cutting off a bit from the left in PAL so thats why the mount is only really visible on the right.
