My first attempt at building a longrange FPV quad, flew the maiden today was pretty chuffed with it, very stable. The frame is accutally a placeholder, while I'm waiting for the Project399 Super G Plus 7” to arrive (https://www.defiancerc.com/collections/frames/products/project399-super-g-7-frame). I'm hoping this will solve any props in shot issues, currenty only shooting with a Go-Pro session, but would like to upgrade to a Hero 7 Shortly. Most impressed with how quiet the 1600kv motors and Azure props are.
My only concern at the moment is my range using my old Aomway Commanders, it seems alright, has anyone flown any long-ish range with the Aomways?
Also the frames very light, but seems strong and very little arm flex, only nagative is the cab is very tight, not much room to play with.
Any advise on the build very much apprecated!
Cheers
Would you say these props would still fly nice on 1200kv? I am thinking of building a 7 inch with 2508 1200kv
I would have thought so yes, but I beleve 1200kv would be better suited to 7" twin props, (I maybe wrong!). The reason I chose these 6" tri-blades is they're generally easier to tune, and less susceptible to propwash, etc. Due to these Azures being tri you get a 'simular' thrust output to twin 7" props, (with the same pitch obviously). That's my understsnding anyway, hope that helps!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

How do the 2306 motors do spinning 7" props? Efficiency? Power? Love the build.
