I've liked open prop micros a long while, my first real success being the totally nuts 4S QAV-Piko 2" that I built a year ago. On 4S 7600kv that quad absolutely only had one speed: blasting off. It never flew for longer than 2:30-3:00 minutes (probably due to weighing in over 100g w/battery) but was an absolute blast, especially compared to any type of ducted Tiny Whoop (still haven't ever flown a Whoop that I like). Fast forward to flying more 3-5" quads, then moving to a new house with a tiny yard within class D airspace, wanting something smaller but with large quad tendencies, and also Kabab spearheading his own excellent Toothpick concept.
I'm real excited to be flying this on 2S for the flight times, but for now I have some old 3S 450mah packs that will let me push the hardware and do some basic testing. It weighs 40g, 82g with the 3S 450mah, and looks to be a solid setup for fun.
The GepRC FC seemed to be decent quality, despite most of these boards using the same layout. The AKK-AIO camera/VTx was an old part that I used on my QAV-Piko. I depinned the R-XSR to save space and get rid of the Smartport and SBUS-in leads.
There's not much else to say - It goes together like any other setup, except for removing the motor connectors on the FC. Looking forward to fine tuning PIDs and filters, and as always editing DVR.
Update: GNB 2S 520mah packs arrived, performance is excellent and flight times are pretty amazing. It's 70g AUW with this battery. It absolutely feels like a great setup.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
