Update 7/1/2019: Just had another 8 minute flight. This thing is bat-shit crazy indoors. There should be a half dozen whoop shaped holes in my basement walls. Bouncing off stuff, crashing hard, turtling, and just keeps going. I'm getting around so fast that the quad is normally rolled 90° to the left and stays in the air. Weird. And then have enough control to still fly between chair legs. For all the complaints people had about this camera, it is perfect for indoors and consistently lit areas.
When I rebuilt my SU-Primo toothpick with different motors, camera, and Iflight 16x16 stack, I had all these parts left over...
It's been raining so much, I decided to build a whoop to get some weekend flying in.
Just added the V3 Mobula7 frame and Mobula LED strip. I figured the range and camera of this setup is horrible outside, so why not make this into a super-whoop.
I did have to use o-rings under the screw heads to fasten the jellymount over the flight controller. This allowed me to mount the Gnarlyfpv canopy, which handles vibration surprisingly well. And lastly I used UV cure adhesive to protect the small wires near the ducts, which hardens up to a durable shell.
To be honest, it flew great on stock tune. I was whipping around the basement for 8 straight minutes, with cells settling at 3.65v each, off a 450mah 2s. Throttle averaged 60-75%, with tons of zip to spare. I drained the next battery as fast as I could, still 7.5 minutes and 3.65v resting.
I caught myself at least a dozen times just about to smash into something full speed, and was able to roll and punch for rapid correction. I should have clipped the frame each time, it was nuts.
I like the added weight in this setup compared to the stock mobula. It carries well, and the motors have more than enough power to get you out of any mess. And I can use turtle mode again! My toothpicks cannot, ever.
First time using the LED strip. Seems like Betaflight has a nice tool in place to customize. Ill be looking into that. Just running the stock mobula light show.
Love the props. I thought they would be less efficient for how aggressive they are. But they did better on flight time than stock mobula props, with my flight style. Lots of little quick adjustments and hard direction changes/reverses.
Ready for any weather now...
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
