The Gatehunter CTS is the latest member to join my family of Gatehunter racing frames. The stretch-X geometry with increased prop separation is identical to the Gatehunter RS5 and both share identical arms. Compared to the RS (Racing Specification) the CTS (Classic Top Plate Specification) is more of a do-it-all: Better to carry a GoPro and more space for components while still compact and light enough (70g incl. TPU parts) for serious racing performance:

Key features:

  • Super low “slammed” profile while still providing 25mm of max stack height
  • Optional GoPro mount (~10g) for the “standard” GoPro cage – Adjustable angle and easy to remove!
  • Slots in top plate specifically designed to zip tie a TBS Unify Race
  • Integrated antenna mount for Axii/Lollipop or SMA
  • Flip Stick integration for racing (way more effective than a fin!)
  • Quick swap arms: Only one screws needs to be removed.
  • 30x30 (M3) and 20x20 (M2) mounting holes and standard 16x16 M3 motor mounts
  • 19mm micro cams or 14mm nano with adapter

A few words about the build:

  • Motors: The Emax Eco 2207 1900kV are amazing for how cheap they are! But one of them already has a slightly rough bearing so lets see how good the durability is.
  • Camera: The Ratel with the 1.66 mm lens is my favorite at the moment. Super nice image and good field of view.
  • FC/ESC: The Diatone F722 is a no brainer in my opinion. Works great and has tons of features.
  • RX: Crossfire Nano (the default option). Super reliable although I start to get annoyed by the "immortal" antenna. They always bend and fall apart quickly. Might go for the XF RF race antenna instead so I can put it somewhere where it is not exposed.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
