For me, the toothpick concept from the beginning is something simple & easy to build & maintain using common low cost components. So I just want to stay with the original idea: less part less hassle.
The original amax toothpick thrust ratio is around 8-9, I initially want to use the basic combo 1106-6000kv with 3s that bringing the ratio to 12 -13. With proper tunning, it should be faster than the 2.5 inch toothpick. However, that power seems too much for my novice pilot skill, so I decided to go another direction to find something more efficient with the similar thrust ratio.
190919: I don't have range issue with the onbard frsky but curious to see if I could modify the antenna to get something better. Below is the 1st test, around 300 meters, still have to play around with the dimension buts thats seems enough for everyday flight.
