SlamNasty HD 6S

Had to try to fit the DJI fpv system to Slam Nasty frame! :D
I used the SlamNasty frame with 19mm standoffs and added locking nuts under the standoffs.
Printed a lower plate to air unit using nylon. Also cam mount had to be widened by 1mm.
Total weight is still quite high, but let's see how it goes.

i just got this frame and didn't realize I needed 20mm standoffs. I've got the XRotor 60A stack and haven't installed it yet but wondering whether the 20mm height is based on your specific stack and whether these stack on top of the existing stacks? Also, are these aftermarket Air Unit antennas or how did you get them into these prints?

I used the Nasty 19mm standoffs and added lock nuts (about 3mm) under the standoffs. This was enough to fit the esc, fc and air unit inside.
Antennas are standard dji antennas, not aftermarket. they are just crossed (left side antenna in air unit comes out from right side of the quad...).

Thanks! My ESC came with the cap soldered to the back between the power leads and is shrink wrapped so it will not fit. I can cut the shrink wrap, bend the cap up a little bit, and it would probably lay on top of the back piece between the zip strip holes but it seems the 3D printed pieces for the Air Unit antennas may not allow it to sit there ... not having printed these yet, do you know if a cap could fit there?

no idea. you need to test.

This truly is a lovely thing... I'm about to start my 3rd DJI System build, and I think this is going to be it, this is so great! Fine work. So a question and a request: How bad is the prop-in-view with this? Does the extra height get them down in the bottom 1/3 at least? And would you be so kind as to post the STLs for the tray and antenna mounts to your Thingieverse gallery? It'd be a great help!

Are any of the 3D printed parts custom? Or is it just the stock frame hardware?

M490fpv   Sep 29, 2019

all printed parts on this build are my design. But

Have you raced it yet? My build is ~40g heavier than this and feels like a brick compared to my analog racers.

would a Titan stack fit?

i have a question: can you run the dji system on a taranis?

M490fpv   Sep 29, 2019

yes, you can use your own radio and receiver, and use the DJI system on fpv only.

How do you get a battery strap in there? ESC looks like it's less than 1mm off the bottom plate.

there is plenty of room. 2mm spacers and esc soft mounted on top of it. I soldered the middle motor wires to bottom of the pads (to get some room to usb) so it just looks low 😁

How much do you love this quad right now?

It is very nice build 🥰
I like these dji builds so much, that i'm considering to sell all my analog builds 😁

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
