I let marketing chose my parts for this build ... I waited for promotions for the last 2 months and selected what I like without looking for a coherent build.
The result is a racing sub 300 grams quad.

The real price for the BNF build is $215

  • Frame $25
  • stack $100
  • Motors $50
  • receiver $15
  • camera $25

General notes on the build :

  1. ESC pivoted by 90 degrees => allows the use of short ribbon cable
  2. FC pivoted by 180 degrees => modified motor resource in Betaflight and gyro
  3. Only camera video cable goes to the back of the FC => Garantees nothing will ever touch the soft mounted Gyro
  4. ESC has more ventilation => SD card is protected from ejection
  5. Camera control enabled on motor 5 => connected 'ground camera' to FC-M5 and 'OSD camera' to FC-Ground
  6. VTX mmcx direction to the back of the quad => less interference for video feed
  7. The frame was selected by drone drop box => it lacks an FPV antenna mount
  8. Propellers in reversed direction => enhance gate hit survivability
  9. Removed some material from the 3D printed camera holder => allows the motor cables to come from the front
  10. Mr S. 'Moustache' enabled :)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
