This is an update of my previous 2inch build... I re-used some components after a bad crash (shorted the FC and the VTX).
I went for a 3inch instead of the prior 2inch, as many say this is the good size for a small outdoor quad. I also selected a pure X toothpick frame, based on Bob/Kabab's comment that when all components are centered in a build, the flight reaction are snappier. But with the 8gr 20*20 esc and FC combo... this is not toothpick :-D
The dry weight is about 60gr... I'm flying 2S 300, 450, and 520 mA. I also have one 3S 520mA. All
up weight is around 100gr.
How does it fly? NICE! Actually much nicer than the prior 2S micro. It basically confirms the saying of Kabab... :-) For sure the larger blades make a significant difference; it feels somewhat more floatty.
I still have some propwash when coming out of dives too abruptly. I haven't noticed any propwash in sharp turns though. Motors come out cool and ready for more.
Last comment: I like the AVAN 2.5! They're pretty silent and grippy compared to the biblades I used in the past! Awesome for parks!
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- !!! UPGRADES !!! -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
New motors: betafpv 1105 5000kv. The 1104 were poor quality and I burned one just like that...
Racewires with leds (blinks when beeping)
Lowered the canopy/cam/vtx by 4-5mm
Removed the antenna... The one I had was crap. Must be defective...
and upgrade to betaflight 4.1
First hover is super stable, low noise and motors came out just cold. Now looking forward to rip outside!!!
Just another word: mounting the ESC/FC separate from the cam and canopy seem to reduce vibrations in the stack and on the cam. Can this be?
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Tried the HQ 2.5" V1S? They are mah favorite!
I need to try that :)
I have some HQ 3x2.5 and 3x3 to try here. I initially wanted some triblades but made a mistake when ordering. This said I usually tend to prefer the 3-blades... Let's see!
