3DHawk, the ultimate 3D printed tinyhawk S or freestyle conversion.
The tinyhawk S is a good beginner quad or good indoor quad but what happen when you start fliying well and you want more of it ?
On the other end the tinyhawk Freestyle seems to be a good toothpick style quad but i read that it suffer from a lack of power...what happen if i retire 13 grams of it ?
The idea was to exploit the AIO board because for me AIO sound like weight efficiency.
So, I was limited by the 5A of the ESC and the heaviest motor i can install was 1103 8000kv with 65mm props.
I bought the skystars motor on a flash sale for 5.45$ each one.
Then I can say this build is a also a good budget conversion from a Tinyhawk S to a tinyhawk freestyle "light version"
The frame is my own design and i will post it on thingiverse soon.
It is 3" capable and i think i will test some 3025 Gemfan props wich for me are the best performance/efficiency ratio.
I add some reinforcements on the underside of the frame that i print in green with the help of M600 command on my 3D printer.
The antenna is maintained with a special part on the rear of the quad.
The original weight of a Tinyhawk freestyle is 52gram dry and 78 gram the the original batteries. My 39 and 66 grams seems to be a good progress !
I think a HD camera like the split could be installed on such a build without too much degrade the flight performance.
It run well on betaflight 4.1 with an amazing flightime of 5mn+ and a really good punch !
I'm trying to adjust the PID as well as it could be, if i find something significantly better than the stock PID i will post it.
Mlanaga, Bask Country, France
EDIT : 28/11/2019 Today, the PID's start to be interesting, I complete a flight of 7 mn !!! With a 450 maH 1S battery, very promising !!
Which VTX did you pair with the micro camera?
That is the stock vtx from the tinyhawk s but you can pair a lot of nano VTX (TBS, eachine or nameless) like it's explain on this vidéo :
You can also install the tinyhawk sled to make it easy : https://tinysleds.com/products/emax-tinyhawk-freestyle-vtx-rx-sled
what filament did you use? alsoo yess!!! we need more people to work on these emax boards. I swear ive done so much to this board like its been in 2 of my micros and it has crashed several times in water but survived. I wanna see how 3" works on this so ill stay tuned for your updates my good sir!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
