Hey Everyone,

I wanted to try out a 6s Quad, so decided a build was in order.

Goals: Solid Power (were I fly you cant go too far either way, so the extra Pop is more valuable than flight time IMO), Light weight (with enough durability to not break the frame every crash), solid CG, and simple layout.

318 grams w_out strap or battery, 545 Grams W_strap and Batt

Flys very balanced and smooth.

Love the frame. Simple layout, lightweight, looks good, and has survived a few cartwheels thus far so durability seems legit.

The Hyperlite Motors aren't the prettiest IMO (simple colors e.x. Black,Grey would be nice.. anything but light blue), but Honestly that wasn't what's most important (Pretty; didn't make the Goals list ), so I went for them anyway. Wow!! the 9 bearings are smooth and it is just ready to go whenever needed with no end of power in sight. Turned down the BF filter sliders to 20% and the motors are coming down between completely cool and slightly warm to the touch after hard flying (never even close to what I would consider hot).

Already had the Xrotor 60amp ESC and had issues wiring to a FC from another build, so went with the Xrotor F4 G3 for the simple wiring between the boards (the Radix should also work, but didn't see the advantage for the difference of $15 more and it being a little older. *aside from the manual, but I had already simplified the build with the common pinout)
Works great, but can probably find a better option with an F7 similarily priced (love my HGLRC FD765 30x30 Stack in my Ummagawd)

The Talon Battery's seem very nice. I am used to the Tattu R-Line 3.0 and would not hesitate buying whichever was on sale at the time as they both seem to perform excellent and are compact/lightweight.

I have a Matek GPS on my Remix V2 with Xing 2208 2450's and it hits 88mph. This build feels faster, just to give an idea on top end.

  • just started building this year (sorry you have to see this Soldering Pros lol)
  • there is no frame cutout for the battery strap. It does come with 2 nice metal buckle straps that works very well, but its different than I am used to so wanted to mention it.

Let me know if you have any questions about the build and I hope this is able to help someone elses research!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
