Once the HQ T4 props came out I knew what I had to do.

Initially I was planning to run some 1404 motors on a 12a board, but then the BetaFPV 20a AIO came out. I already had some Emax 1408s on my Hayabusa 3in which I don't fly anymore. I got spoiled on the Runcam Nano 2 from my other quads and couldn't go back to flying with the Caddx Turtle. So I cannibalized the receiver and vtx as well. RIP.

I expected this quad to be quick so I made sure to get a race cam (low latency). Good thing I did.

There isn't a larger motor that can run these props, and if there was they would probably need a bigger ESC.

The all up weight is only 231 grams, and I can shave even more off with a smaller VTX and shorter motor wires.

This thing really surprised me. I wasn't expecting the kind of power it's putting out. I believe it may be race-capable. As usual with ultralights I had to set a throttle curve (0, 0.25) so that the low end has more resolution.

Overall this was a huge success. I expect the Betafpv 20a AIO will be quite popular, at least untill we get a 6s 30a aio board!

The frame is a 15 minute prototype. I just wanted something quick that fit the components. I used the same canopy as my 3in ultralight. I've since updated the design (not shown here) taking some cues from Dave_C's most excellent Gatehunter frame.

Sorry no video for this one! The AV-out isn't working on my goggles.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
